The South High School Jazz Ensemble from Downers Grove had a final dress rehearsal this evening to prepare for the 16th annual Essentially Ellington Competition and Festival. The students looked FABULOUS in their new concert attire, which is coordinate by section. Guest adjudicators and former EE participating band directors Phil Crews and Dave Eanes came and listened and gave the band feedback on their performance. Northwestern University jazz studies director emeritus Don Owens also came to listen to and support the band as they prepared to leave for NYC. Great job you Mustang jazz musicians - Big Apple, here we come!
